King Street in the 1990s Walking Tour

King Street 1990s

Join me for a walking tour of King Street as it was in the 1990s on Saturday October 19th – it’s free, and you can book here. We’ll meet at Newtown Library and head off in search of King of Yeeros, the Oxford, and the Burland Community Hall.

What does it mean? Would I ever work it out?

What graffiti do you remember from the 90s?

Staying Power

Staying Power

It’s true – I do, the photo on the left was taken in 1998, the one on the right in 2013.

I bought this t-shirt for $1 from an op shop in the 1990s, it’s an International Trucks t-shirt. I didn’t know this until a man came up to me when I was wearing it in Albury, wanting to talk about trucks with me.

Ninety9 in Brisbane

Last weekend I travelled to Brisbane to Launch Ninety9 at ZICS in Brisbane. Here are a few of the highlights.

zics opening nightOpening night, explaining how one book leads to another.

zics preparationsPreparing for the launch, assembling ephemera, choosing 90s candy, choosing what story to read from the book.

Ninety9 CakeThe launch was considerably enhanced by this cake! It was a tiramisu made by Tamara (of many great zines such as Briefly, Birds, Walnuts and Other Nuts, Bunny Men) and was delicious. No one reached for the Nerds until all the cake was gone.

zics zine fairThe zine fair, which ran over two days of the festival. I shared a table with Fox and Owl distro: Ninety9, and well as some of my zines, are now in their catalogue.

Thanks for having me Brisbane, and stay tuned for the next launch of Ninety9, at the This is Not Art Festival in October.
